A user license to the Delivering SMARTER Intervention (DSI) program, entitles a single person to access and use the materials and training provided in the program. This means that program materials and/or login access can not be shared with other coworkers, teachers, instructors, friends, etc. Sharing login credentials or allowing multiple people to access the program through one account is a violation of the program's Terms of Use.

Licensed users may use the program materials with all of the students whom they directly serve.

Once you purchase a license, you will have access for a single user to log in to the program. When you log in you will see the training and the curriculum resources.

You can print and download any of the resources for use with as many students as you need. It's truly just print-and-go so you can be ready for your lessons in no time.

Each lesson contains direct and systematic instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, reading fluency, comprehension, spelling, and writing.

The lessons progress from the most basic foundational level to advanced patterns including Greek and Latin Roots.

The program does not include physical materials as it is designed to be used as a print-and-go curriculum option. However, if you prefer that we do the printing for you, we have printed materials available that can be purchased separately for licensed users only.

There are three progress monitoring assessments built directly into the program for each level. Assessments can be provided at baseline (beginning of year), midpoint (midyear), and final (end of year). The assessments are optional but are a great tool specifically for Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction.

These assessments provide information regarding student performance in phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, reading fluency, comprehension, and writing skills.

There are two options for assessment delivery (individual - open ended response format; group - multiple choice format). These assessments are optional. If you already have a tool you use to monitor student progress, that data can easily be incorporated into lesson differentiation as well.

A placement guide is available that provides a decision tree and placement screener to help understand which level to place students.

For Tier 2 and Tier 3 instruction, it is important that students be placed based on ability/skill level.

For general education classroom instruction, we typically recommend correlating the program level with the students’ grade level. For students without previous structured literacy exposure, it will be important to continue to provide direct and explicit systematic review of concepts.

Yes! The program was designed to follow a structured and systematic progression of literacy concepts related to word recognition and language comprehension. Furthermore, the program has undergone statistical analysis for effectiveness.

The program is designed to follow a structured and systematic progression of concepts while also aligning with Common Core Standards.

The program includes on-demand training with 20 hours of direct video training and reflection questions and exercises. After successfully passing the quizzes, a 40-hour PD certificate is available.

Additional training is available for in-person or live virtual professional development, but it is not necessary to implement the program.
